Prospective Parents and Families
The student life experience at Converse is where learning extends outside of the classroom. It is about being part of a community and sharing experiences. It’s about making memories, friendships and connections.
From residential campus life to clubs and athletics, to the city of Spartanburg and beyond, see what life inside and outside of the classroom is like for students at Converse.
Converse is committed to our students and their families. We offer a variety of ways for you to become familiar with current happenings and campus resources. We will empower you to support your college student.
Converse is affordable.
Converse’s tuition is well below the national average of private, four-year institutions. We remain highly competitive among undergraduate peer institutions in the Southeast at both private colleges and regional comprehensive universities.
Even better, the Converse Guarantee ensures your student will complete their college career in a timely manner and without spending more money on additional years of school.
Approximately 95% of Converse’s students receive some form of need-based and/or achievement-based financial aid. We are committed to ensuring that a high-quality, private education is within your reach. And you won’t have to figure it all out on your own. Our Student Financial Services staff is here to help.

Resources and Important Dates
- Attend a preview day! Preview days offer a half-day campus experience that includes a walking tour, lunch, and the opportunity to check out our academic departments and other programs.
- Encourage your student to apply by the end of October or the end of January in order to be considered for invitation-only Scholars Days held each November or February. Scholars Day offers qualified admitted students the opportunity to interview (on campus or virtually) for additional scholarship money. Scholars Days’ awards stack on top of any Endowed Academic money your student was offered upon acceptance. Virtual interviews are scheduled in the weeks before and/or after the scheduled on-campus events.
- File your FAFSA! While the Free Application for Federal Student Aid will be delayed beyond the usual October 1 launch, it is important that you are ready to file yours as soon as it opens. You can start today by creating your FSA ID.
- Save the date for Accepted Student Day on March 22, 2025! All accepted students will be invited to campus for an informal day of learning what’s ahead for them at Converse and getting to know other prospective Valkyries.
- Prepare for May 1, which is National College Decision Day. Though Converse does not require a commitment by this date, we recommend committing early so you can start receiving information about orientation, housing, academic advising, and more.
- To receive our e-newsletter just for parents, The Family Connector, please sign up today, and you will receive an email with updates and informative news over the course of the year.
